The Australian Senate is conducting an Inquiry into how well Medicare is serving people in rural, regional and remote communities. They are seeking input from consumers and organisations about how recent Medicare changes are affecting access to GPs and other primary care services in these areas.
CHF will be preparing a submission to the Inquiry, and we want to hear directly from consumers living in rural and remote regions. Your experiences and insights into what’s working, what isn’t, and what needs to change will help shape our recommendations.
Share your story
If you live in a rural, remote or regional area you can tell us about your experiences by completing a short online survey.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer to speak with us, you can join our online drop‑in Zoom session on Thurs 29 January, 1:00–2:30pm AEDT.
Sharing your experiences with us is voluntary and unpaid, but your insights will be critical to shaping our submission and recommendations. Our push for a better, more accessible healthcare system starts with your stories.
Make your own submission
We also strongly encourage rural and remote consumers and consumer organisations to consider making their own direct submissions to the Inquiry.
You can do this on the Inquiry website.
Information on how to prepare and upload a submission is available here.
