CHF travelled to Queensland to speak with health consumers, communities and organisations about their experiences of health and healthcare across the state.
We brought these perspectives together at a consumer and community roundtable in Brisbane, where we were joined by consumers and other like-minded organisations.
What we heard was that while some things are working really well, challenges remain. The importance of health literacy and trust, the vital role of carers, the human and financial costs of navigating care, and what having choice looks like in healthcare were all important areas of discussion.
Thank you to the following organisations who generously shared their experiences and insights. What we have heard will help shape our ongoing advocacy for a health system that is accessible, affordable, safe and centred on the needs of Australian health consumers.
