About
The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing (The Department) wants to make it easier for people to understand what different primary care health providers (like nurses, GPs, physios, etc.) can do. Right now, many consumers don’t always know who they can go to for help, and it may not be clear among health workers, who is able to provide what care for who. This can make it difficult for people to access the right care at the right time.
To address this, the Department is creating a National Skills and Capability Matrix — a simple guide that shows what each type of primary care health provider is trained and allowed to do. They want to make sure this guide is a useful tool for everyone; consumers and health professionals.
Opportunity
CHF is inviting up to 25 health consumers to join a roundtable discussion online.
Participants will be asked to:
Look at early drafts and versions of the guide (called the Primary Care National Skills and Capability Matrix).
Share your thoughts on how useful the guide is and how it could be better.
Talk about when and how the guide could help people during their healthcare journey
Consider how the guide can be applied for a specific health issue, for example diabetes.
